I still remember the early days of my blogging journey, seven years ago. Back then, it felt easy to show up on every platform. Only publishing a post without doing anything else. Everyone said you had to be on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter — and more. Even the bloggers I followed and bought courses from (who had started before me) were teaching this. So I listened — and I did it. I had just launched my blog and written my first few posts, but I immediately created accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube. The truth? I didn’t even use most of them in my personal life. I had no clue how they worked — or what kind of content to create. Still, I jumped in, full of motivation, and started posting on all platforms regularly. But it didn’t last. Soon, I felt overwhelmed. I couldn’t keep up the pace, and my posting became inconsistent — until I stopped altogether. Even publishing blog posts regularly felt impossible because I didn’t have a clear content plan or strategy. So how could I possibly keep up with the pros — the ones posting everywhere, every day? That’s when I finally learned a lesson that changed everything: Trying to be everywhere at once is what’s actually holding you back. Posting on every platform, replying to all the emails, attending every event — but still feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and stuck? You’re not alone. Here’s the truth: You don’t have to do it all to succeed. Especially when you’re just getting started, the best thing you can do is meet yourself where you are. Once I realized that, everything changed. I started making intentional decisions about where to show up — based on three things: Where my audience actually is What brings real results (like new subscribers) What I can realistically manage as a solopreneur without a VA to run all my social media accounts Here’s what I focused on first: Publishing one new blog post each week Sending out one weekly newsletter (I haven’t missed one since!) Writing blog posts with SEO in mind Using Pinterest to drive traffic by scheduling pins through Tailwind Once that little content machine was running smoothly — and only then — I started showing up on other platforms, like YouTube with short videos. Here’s the thing: Sustainable growth — especially when you’re just starting out — means focusing on what really fits your life, your time, and your energy. It means picking one platform, building a few simple habits, and setting small, doable goals — so you can keep moving forward without burning out. In my latest post, I share why trying to keep up with big creators can leave you feeling discouraged — and how starting small can actually help you build a stronger, more sustainable business. If you want to grow your side hustle with more clarity and confidence — and less overwhelm — this one’s for you. 👉 Read the full post Small, steady steps get you further than burnout ever will.
